News Item: The King and Queen of Spain with the Robotic Chair.
From 'ABC', Madrid, Thursday 16, Febuary, 2007
"The monarch broke protocol as he stood by the Nicholas Metivier Gallery from Toronto. This gallery is included in the program called "Projects" that encompasses the most innovative contemporary art in Madrid. This was the highlight of the royal visit to ARCO, the contemporary art fair in Madrid. As the monarch walked by the Canadian booth there was a sudden noise caused by the collapse of the"robotic chair". The King became very interested in the piece by Max Dean, Rafaello d'Andrea and Matt Donovan. It is a very particular chair capable of reconstituting itself thanks to a robot contained within it. The robot is capable of locating the different components of the chair, reassembles itself and reestablishes the original structure. In spite of having been given a DVD on the chair, he broke the protocol and insisted on witnessing the whole process that takes about six minutes. There was hardly time to see other projects..."
